Tornados, again

Once again my family and I spent the evening alternating between hunkering down in the “safe room” of the house (the laundry room) and watching the TV weather reports of the ongoing weather. This is a fact of life in Arkansas in the spring and summer: we have thunderstorms, and often tornados. Today the weather was unseasonably warm (into the 90’s Fahrenheit), which feeds energy into the air, so I’m told, making the weather especially prone for a bumpy night. Last week we had similar weather, and at least 7 deaths were recorded around the state, so it makes us that much more alert.

For now, the worst has blown over, but there could be more later into the evening and into the wee hours. For now we will hustle the boys off to bed and keep an ear open for the weather radio. Good night!
